This week is the national conference the GCSAA. Social media is playing a big part in getting out some details this year for those that were not able to attend. The National Conference is a 4 day event with educational opportunities as well as a supplier show. The show is usually when the big manufactures showcase their new and exciting products for the upcoming year. The Toro company is unveiling a lithium ion powered greens mower. Here is a quick link to a Toro 2011 turf equipment spotlight video very exciting news from this company.

I may be a little biased towards Toro since 99% of our equipment is Toro but just about every golf equipment is showcasing a new; efficient, dependable and environmental friendly turf equipment. Down the road this new technology that is being developed will allow the Golf Course Superintendent to provide the best possible conditions much more efficiently while being as "green" as possible.
I have attached a link to an interview with Nick Price who won the Old Tom Morris award at the national conference. This award is the GCSAA highest honor. Which is presented to an individual who has helped the game of golf through a lifetime comment to growing the game
