Happy Holidays

Just a quick update

last week we received 17.75 inches of heavy snow.  At the time of the snow fall the ground was not frozen and with this nice insulating blanket that is on the course right now the ground is still soft under the snow.  On the plus side I do not see any ice, which is a good thing right now. Ideally, I would have like to see a nice hard freeze in the ground before the snow cover but can not have everything.

We are moving forward now with our winter service of the turf equipment.  This year we have a lot of work to do to get our equipment in good shape.  We had an extended season this year which put a lot of extra wear on everything. Additionally, our fairway and greens mowers are in need on major work since they a now 3 years old.

Here is a good example of the work that we are doing on our fairway mower reels
each reel is completely taken apart; painted, change the bearing if needed, remove any rust, repaint, and then the reel is reassembled and the reel is sharpened.

With the fairway mowers and greens mowers there is a total of 21 reels that we are rebuilding this winter.

I hope that everyone has a safe and happy new year

Neil
