1.4 inches broke the extended dry period but really put the brakes on us this week. The golf course remains in good condition with all the bunkers repaired from the storms this week.
We completed most of the verticutting and will finish next week. We still have not completed the core aeration and have switched to the solid tines for greens aeration Monday and Tuesday. We will also topdress the greens and approaches at the same time.
As we move into the cooler days and chilly nights, I will start to favor working on a few projects and less on mowing unless required. The greens will not be as fast but the greens will still be very good. The focus will be on details for next year and the health of the turfgrass for winter and into next spring.
