We are finally in a good stretch of weather and hopefully this will be with us for some time.
Memorial Day is the time of the year that you should put a little fertilizer on your yard. I will be applying organic fertilizers on the greens, tees, fairways and roughs over the the course of the next few weeks. I will also solid tine the greens for the second time the 26th and 27th. This time of the year the roots are really growing and the channel that is created with the solid tine allows for good rooting and air exchange.
You may have noticed some mowing in the fescue areas. We are not mowing all the fescue rather mowing and weed eating some of the undesirable grass and weeds that remain. Some of the undesirable grasses have been weakened by the herbicide application and this mowing will help discourage regrowth. As new plants regrow we will be spot spraying.
